French Wild Lily Earrings - P054
The French Wild Lily Earrings are part of my Heritage Impression Series, a collection created to honor the history of jewelry making through wearable art.
Each pair is handcrafted from pewter and pressed using a French Wild Lilies impression die from Potter USA. The original design is part of the French Summer Series and comes from Paris, France, featuring a hand-carved lily in full bloom with petals that curl and unfold in a beautiful, windswept pattern. The deeply carved design gives the finished earrings rich texture, depth, and an elegant Art Nouveau botanical feel.
After pressing, each piece is cut, shaped, patinated, and finished by hand in my studio to bring out all of the beautiful detail in the impression. The earrings are completed with surgical stainless steel ear wires for comfortable everyday wear.
I chose pewter for this collection because it is lightweight, captures fine detail beautifully, and allows me to offer these historically inspired designs at a more accessible price point. Every pair carries a small piece of jewelry history with it — old tools, new life.

About Pewter Jewelry
About Pewter Jewelry
Pewter has a long history in decorative metalwork and has been used for centuries to create functional and ornamental pieces. In this collection, pewter allows for beautifully detailed impressions while offering a more approachable price point.
Here are a few things to know about pewter when worn as jewelry:
Material Characteristics
Pewter is a softer metal than sterling silver. This softness allows impression details to come through clearly, but it also means pewter may show signs of wear over time. Light surface marks and patina are part of the material’s natural character and add to its handmade appeal.
Comfort & Wear
Pewter is lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear. All earrings in this collection are finished with surgical-grade steel ear wires, making them suitable for most sensitive ears.
Care & Cleaning
To keep your pewter earrings looking their best:
-
Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing
-
Avoid exposure to water, perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals
-
Store separately from harder metals to prevent scratches
-
Do not use silver dips or abrasive cleaners
If the surface darkens over time, a gentle hand polish with a soft cloth will refresh the finish.
Patina & Aging
Each piece is intentionally finished to highlight depth and detail. Over time, pewter may continue to darken slightly, enhancing the contrast in the design. This natural aging is expected and part of what makes each piece unique.
Handmade Nature
Because each earring is pressed, cut, and finished by hand, no two pairs are exactly alike. Small variations are a natural part of the process and a hallmark of handmade jewelry.
