Bee Earrings - P002

Bee Earrings - P002

SKU: P002
$30.00Price

These Bee Earrings are part of my Heritage Impression Series, a collection focused on preserving the history of jewelry making through wearable art.

Each pair is handcrafted from pewter and pressed using a Potter USA bee impression die, recreated from historic steel hubs that were originally hand-carved in the late 1800s and early 1900s. These tools reflect how jewelry was made long before modern casting, and I love being able to keep those designs alive through modern making.

After pressing, each piece is cut, shaped, patinated, and finished by hand to bring out depth and detail in the impression. The earrings are completed with surgical-grade steel ear wires for comfortable, everyday wear.

This piece represents the beginning of my Heritage Impression Series: Old tools given new life, meant to be worn and enjoyed.

  • About Pewter Jewelry

    About Pewter Jewelry

Pewter has a long history in decorative metalwork and has been used for centuries to create functional and ornamental pieces. In this collection, pewter allows for beautifully detailed impressions while offering a more approachable price point.

Here are a few things to know about pewter when worn as jewelry:

    Material Characteristics

Pewter is a softer metal than sterling silver. This softness allows impression details to come through clearly, but it also means pewter may show signs of wear over time. Light surface marks and patina are part of the material’s natural character and add to its handmade appeal.

    Comfort & Wear

Pewter is lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear. All earrings in this collection are finished with surgical-grade steel ear wires, making them suitable for most sensitive ears.

    Care & Cleaning

To keep your pewter earrings looking their best:

    • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing

    • Avoid exposure to water, perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals

    • Store separately from harder metals to prevent scratches

    • Do not use silver dips or abrasive cleaners

If the surface darkens over time, a gentle hand polish with a soft cloth will refresh the finish.

    Patina & Aging

Each piece is intentionally finished to highlight depth and detail. Over time, pewter may continue to darken slightly, enhancing the contrast in the design. This natural aging is expected and part of what makes each piece unique.

    Handmade Nature

Because each earring is pressed, cut, and finished by hand, no two pairs are exactly alike. Small variations are a natural part of the process and a hallmark of handmade jewelry.
